Revival Roadmap

A staged roadmap for moving from historical preservation to a credible open-source development programme.

Dates will be added only after maintainers, scope, and repository ownership are confirmed.

1. Stage 1: Preservation

  • •Inventory surviving historical material.
  • •Restore important historical pages and artifacts.
  • •Document provenance, licensing, and checksums.
  • •Verify historical paths and archived source references.

2. Stage 2: Definition

  • •Publish the modern problem statement.
  • •Select the first narrowly scoped tool or library.
  • •Document supported and unsupported use cases.
  • •Establish maintainers, governance, and security reporting.

3. Stage 3: Open development

  • •Launch public repositories.
  • •Publish reproducible development and testing instructions.
  • •Accept reviewed issues and contributions.
  • •Create an initial technical milestone with measurable acceptance criteria.

4. Stage 4: First release

  • •Complete security review appropriate to the project scope.
  • •Publish signed release artifacts and release notes.
  • •Document support status and upgrade expectations.
  • •Collect feedback before expanding scope.
